You choose how long an estimate or change order stays open — a number of days or an exact date — and that one date is printed on the PDF, shown on the client's page and applied to the public link. Invoices carry a due date instead: the link keeps working after it passes, the page simply says payment is past due.
Where: On the estimate, change order or invoice before sending, and on the client's own page
Plans: All plans
Set how long an estimate stays valid
Open the estimate or change order and go to its send or review step.
Set the Valid until (or Expiry date) control — either a number of days or an exact date you pick.
Send it. The PDF, the client's page and the public link all show that same date.
Need to change it later? Edit the date and re-send — the PDF and the link follow the new date. There is only ever one date.
The date you choose is the only validity date: nothing prints a different one.
Handle an estimate the client never answered
The client opens their link and sees that the estimate has expired — the Accept and Decline buttons are gone.
In their place is Request a new estimate. They press it, type whatever message they want, and send.
You get that message as an email from WinkScope with the estimate, the client and the original scope, plus a dashboard notification.
Send a fresh estimate with a new date when you are ready.
The link is not switched off — the client can still read the estimate and its scope.
Switch a document link off and back on
Open the document and use Revoke link to stop it opening at all.
Use Restore link to make it live again.
An expiry date never revokes a link on its own — it only changes what the page shows.
Cancelled or deleted documents have no link at all; a cancelled invoice's payment link stops working.
Rules and limits
Expired estimates and change orders hide Accept/Decline and show a renewal request instead.
An invoice past its due date still accepts payment — the page shows a past-due notice rather than blocking the client.
A link only stops working when you revoke it, or when the document is cancelled or deleted.
Renewal requests are limited to a few per estimate per day so the button cannot be spammed.
Pay Now appears only on invoices that are still open — pending, partially paid or past due.
What this cannot do
Automatically send a replacement estimate to the client for you.
Hide or delete the document from the client once it expires.
